Making an enquiry about Trauma- Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY)

If you’re interested in Trauma- Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) and would like to find out more.

Please get in touch to schedule an initial phone call or Zoom. This will usually take around 15 minutes and is an opportunity for you to learn more about trauma-sensitive yoga and ask any questions.

There’s no obligation to take the process further after the initial call. You may also choose to take some time before deciding whether to proceed or not.

Following the initial contact, with your agreement, I will send you an enrollment form to review. It will include information about:

  • Any physical injuries, surgeries or pre-existing medical conditions that may be relevant to your yoga practice,

  • Any movements that cause pain or discomfort

  • Information about your previous yoga experience (if any), any movements or shapes you would like to practice, or would not like to practice

  • Anything you’d like me to be aware of to make the space more accessible for you

  • Emergency contact information.

At this point, you can either schedule your first session to go through the enrollment questions together or if you prefer you can complete and return the enrollment form to me. If we go through the enrollment questions together, I will type your answers on the form, before sending it to you to review and sign. At this point, you will be able to make changes to any of the notes I’ve made.

You will not be asked to provide information about your trauma history.

You can take as much time as necessary to decide what is right for you. At this stage, you may choose to come back to me with further questions.

Once you’ve completed the information and returned the signed form to me, I’ll get back to you in two working days.

All information you provide will be held securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.

Is Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) right for you at this time?

To ensure that the practice of Trauma- Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is both safe and useful for you at this time, we ask that:

  • Everyone participating is in a safe and stable space

  • Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is not psychotherapy. However, challenging trauma-related thoughts or emotions can arise as a result of the practice. For this reason, we ask that everyone participating in TCTSY has a support network or therapeutic relationship in which to verbally and cognitively process their experiences.

  • You have not been hospitalised in the last six months for trauma-related symptoms

If Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is not right for you at this time, you’re always welcome to come back to it at another date in the future.
